Inspector-Weekend


WEEKEND SHIFT


Hollander Sleep Products is now hiring for Weekend Associates. Do you prefer working weekends and getting paid for a ful work week? If so, you should join our team.


SUMMARY


Works in the one-on-one set-up. Inspects for quality defects, folds and packages mattress pads for shipment in a fast paced environment. Associate is responsible for ensuring the quality of their work as defined by Hollander quality standards.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES?include the following. Other duties may be assigned.




  • Receives bags and inserts from serger and verifies the law labels, carton labels and bags and inserts all match.


  • Gets appropriate box according to specifications from the overhead box conveyor. If box needed is not on conveyor, makes appropriate size carton as defined by specifications using tape gun.


  • Places labels on carton in the designated areas.


  • Inspects pad for defects defined by specifications and folds the pad to the appropriate size according to specifications.


  • Writes appropriate defect code on back of law label for seconds pads, spots and stains, throw-outs and places in carton to be sent to reclaim unpackaged.


  • Places pad in chute, place insert on top of pad or on top of chute, press foot pedal to compress pad then place bag on front of the chute of the sealing station, then press foot pedal again to move folded pad into bag.


  • Zips bag closed and locks bag if required by specifications.


  • Places packaged and closed mattress pads into carton.


  • Ensures proper number of pads is in carton and seals carton using tape gun if required. On occasion will place sealed cartons on the floor conveyor.


  • Meets or exceeds production requirements as outlined by management.


  • Inspects materials, products, and bags at each step of packaging process to ensure good quality.


  • Maintains a clean work area.


  • Any other duties as assigned.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


No prior experience or training.


LANGUAGE SKILLS


Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS


Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.


REASONING ABILITY


Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.



 


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
